RESEARCHED INFORMATION

From Lonnie Ernst

The parents are Emilie (sitting with a child in her lap) and her husband Hienrich (standing on the porch). They had a total of 15 children. Only 9 of which lived to adulthood. The 6 who died were either stillbirths or or died in early infancy.

Will's full name was William Henry Ernst while his brother Henry's (My grandfather) full name was Henry William Ernst. To cut the confusion, Henry William went by Henry Willie.

My grandfather Henry Willie was married 3 times. He out lived his first two wives. My dad is his youngest child. Henry was 51 when my dad was born in 1931. My dad had 2 half brothers who were in their 30's when my dad was born. As a result, my dad has neices and nephews that are only 1-3 years younger than himself. My dad and one of these nephews actually grew up together and were "running buddies" until they were in their mid teens.

Fred Ernst had a notion that he was a real "Ladies Man". Contrary to his "notion", it has been said that the "ladies" were often laughing AT him rather than WITH him. He never married.

After Heinrich Ernst died in 1921, his wife Emilie spent the rest of her life living with each of her remaining children for a few weeks at a time. My dad remembers her as being a very fiesty and stubborn woman.

The follwing are all buried in the Westphalia Cemetery in Central Texas
